I'm Casey Meyer. I build data infrastructure in Python: pipelines over very large, messy datasets, the public APIs that serve them, and lately the harnesses that let coding agents do real work against them.

I'm the CTO at OpenAlex, an open index of the world's scholarly literature. Before that I ran a small Django maintenance practice and built public-records sites like Transparent California. Before that, and overlapping with it, I spent twenty-four years in the U.S. Air Force, enlisting as a C-5 electrician and retiring as an intelligence officer.

This site is for findings: things I measured, with the data and a way to reproduce them. Opinions show up when they're earned. Posts from the site's first life in 2017 are republished under their original URLs.
